III.Literature as a Platform in Education for Sustainable Development
Education for Sustainable Development provides not just a perfect
platform for working with a range of international agendas; but also an
opportunity to find synergies between groups of people who have been
working towards the same goal under different labels. Often many
educators get caught up with debates about whether their work should be
identified as ‘Environmental Communication’, ‘Environmental Education’
or ‘Education for Sustainable Development’. The Decade provides a space
for educators, including those involved in botanic gardens, to go beyond
terminology differences and to concern themselves with how their work
contributes to addressing local needs in the context of international
goals. The driving force behind Education for Sustainable Development
was the international community.
LITERATURE IS A PLATFORM IN EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN
SUCH A WAY THAT WITHOUT THIS WE DON'T KNOW WHAT ARE WE AS FILIPINO
PEOPLE AND WHAT ARE WE AFTER KNOWING ALL THAT COULD MAKE US A REAL
FILIPINO. IN SOME SENSE AS A FILIPINO PEOPLE WE OUGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM
AND FOR OUR COUNTRY AS WELL,WE ARE SO BLESS TO HAVE OUR OWN LITERATURE
AND TO SHOW THE WORLD WHAT FILIPINO PEOPLE HAVE. I CAN RELATE LITERATURE
FOR EDUCATION IT IS BECAUSE LITERATURE IS A VERY IMPORTANT THING NEED
TO BE CHERISH BY INDIVIDUALS NOT ONLY WE NEED THIS FOR OUR STUDY BUT WE
NEED THIS TO KNOW WHERE WE CAME FROM AND TO KNOW WHAT ARE WE. WE CAN
TREASURE THIS FOR US TO SHOW AND TO SAY THE WORLD WHAT WE GOT.
Literature is a record of past history, it teaches us the values,
ethics, culture, beliefs, custom of the Filipino. The values of
Filipino's now a days is quietly change. If we have to give a important
emphasis to our moral values such as pagmamano sa mga lolo at lola,
pagsabi ng po at opo sa nakatatanda to us, Many Filipino women now a
days Quietly liberated instead of mahinhin.
